The Road Home

As many of you know, my return to the states did not bring me directly back to Northern California. My flight back actually dropped me in Seattle, Washington where I met up with my friend Geoff for a three week west coast road trip. A sort of decompression, if you will. I'll skip most of the small talk and just list the pictures in chronological order with a little description of each stop. Enjoy!

Seattle: This stop was divided into two visits split by a stint in Vancouver. We stayed with our friend Eric, who plays in Swingset Showdown (look them up on SoundCloud, Facebook, or Google. DO IT!).

Vancouver: To break up the Seattle stay, we spent two nights in Vancouver, Canada. During our time there, we met up with two of my friends I met traveling, Grant & Larry. Major props to them for showing us a great time and making us feel welcomed in true Canadian fashion.

Portland: After Seattle & Vancouver, we popped down to Portland to visit our good friend Christian. We spent most of our time just catching up as Geoff and I visited him in Portland two years earlier. We did do an awesome hike on Mt. Hood.

Reno & the road: Leaving Portland, we entered the "road" portion of the road trip. We drove (or I should say Geoff drove) from Portland to Reno in 12 hours, spent the night, and then Reno to Las Vegas in about 10 hours. Most of the drive through Oregon was awesome minus random road construction. Nevada suuuuuuuucked.

Las Vegas: I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Pretty lights at night though...

San Diego: Our first stop, just outside of San Diego, was to see a friend I met traveling, Jessica. She gave us a break from the road and gave us pizza and beer (clutch!). From there we headed into the city and were fortunate enough to get to house sit for my friend, Andy. Bonus: we hit San Diego during Comic Con!

Los Angeles: We spent a few nights here with a good friend, Andrew, who neither of us had seen in over a year. I finally got to see some of the iconic parts of L.A. that I had never seen before.

Santa Cruz & Big Sur: After an extended stay in L.A. we spent just one night in Santa Cruz visiting some long time friends of Geoff. On our way up we drove on Highway 1 to pass through Big Sur.

San Francisco: The final stop, and back to Geoff's home, was the bay area. In particular, San Francisco, just in time for my birthday! Played a lot of disc golf (even saw a coyote roaming Golden Gate Park) and was having too much fun to document the night out other than a bro pic.
