My original plans from last year were supposed to take me from SE Asia to Europe and literally all the way around the world. But I had such a good time in Asia that I never made it out... So after much debate on whether or not to rejoin the workforce, I decided to go for broke and see some of Europe. I spent almost two months back home visiting friends and family before catching a flight to Madrid, Spain.
Upon arrival I met up with two of my friends from Asia, Simon & Jessica. They had just recently moved to Madrid to teach English and offered me their spare bedroom for a few nights. Madrid was a beautiful city filled with tiny windy roads and amazing tapas bars. We enjoyed a few nights out and took a day trip to Segovia to explore this quiet old city.
From Madrid, I took Simon & Jess' advice to check out Valencia before heading over to Barcelona. By the time I caught my bus I had no idea what I was getting into. All I knew is that it was along the coast and south of Barcelona. Once I arrived, I did a bit of research and decided to go scout out the city. I was lucky enough to meet two girls visiting their friend who was studying in Valenica and was able to show us around one night from a more local perspective.
Getting up after just a few hours of sleep, I hit the road to my most anticipated destination in Spain. Barcelona. I made myself at home in a lively hostel in the center of the city. I spent the first few days wondering around the city seeing some of the famous sites of this amazing place. My last two days had a bit more of a planned approach as I went and visited Park Guell, the beach, and La Sagrada Familia. Most of my evenings were spent at the bar below my hostel enjoying the company of other travellers except for one night where we hit the town. Now I understand why everything in Spain gets going so late in the day..

You're living that daring and adventurous dream to see the world, just like you set out to do. As your cousin, I admire your "testicular fortitude." Honestly, madd respect B. And everybody sees you doing it your way, on your time, with an open mind and heart! Beautiful, just beautiful!
When you have time, please post more pics, absolutely loving the pics, seriously, like the random "Monica" soda can... gotta be close friends or family to get that one.
