Same Same But Different

Once back in Chiang Mai, I was on my own. Monica had one night before taking the night bus to catch a flight to Cali from Bangkok. I spent a total of four more nights in Chiang Mai. Once again seeing some sights during the day and partying with my hostel mates at night. I also had the opportunity to visit the Chiang Mai Women’s Prison to get a Thai massage. It was so good I went back again a few days later. No jokes! HAHAHA!

One of those nights while out drinking, my hostel mate suggested we rent motorbikes in the morning and drive ourselves back to Pai. It was immediately set in stone. You may recall from my last post, I described the drive to Pai as a windy climb into the mountains. To be exact, it’s a climb featuring 762 curves. It was pretty much constant turning and winding for 3 straight hours. What a fucking great drive!

I spent three more nights in Pai and of course spent them at the Spicy Pai Backpacker surrounded my amazing people. Once again driving around and seeing the sights during the day and enjoying the Thai nightlife. During the day we visited a local village, natural hot springs and geysers, and saw the sunset from the canyon. I don’t think I emphasized it enough on my last post about Pai but I love that place. The vibe, the scenery, the people: fucking amazing.
